Purpose

Founded in 1958, Sophia Divinity School is the Primary Teaching Ministry of the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch. It blends teaching of the three mystical streams of Western Christianity, Eastern Christianity and the Perennial Wisdom tradition as envisioned by the founder. This blending is reflected in the course structures as well as liturgical expression.

The Seminary serves a variety of training needs of diverse autocephalous or Independent catholic communities and jurisdictions in North and South America, and New Zealand, for Ordination, Spiritual development, and continuing education.

Our primary mission is the training of seminarians in independent catholic jurisdictions for the reception of the sacrament of Holy Orders and to guide the establishment of their ministries of care and inclusivity for the evangelization of the Gospel.

An equally important mission of the seminary is for Continuing Education and Lifelong Spiritual Enrichment through the offering of certificated courses in areas such as The Christian Mystical experience of the Wisdom tradition and The Liturgical experience of the Christian wisdom tradition.
