Welcome to the website for Sophia Divinity School, a ministry of the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch. Established in 1958 by Patriarch Herman Adrian Spruit, Sophia Divinity School has been preparing individuals for ordination to the priesthood in the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, as well as in other independent Catholic Churches for nearly 65 years. While our focus is on preparing individuals for ordained service, our degree programs or selected courses may also be taken by those who wish to deepen their understanding of the Christ Mystery. In keeping with both Patriarch Herman’s vision that, “Only mysticism sustains the vitality and reality of faith”, and the Church’s belief that the key to reclaiming the original blessing is a robust understanding and experience of the Christian mystical tradition, our curriculum provides ample opportunity for students to explore the tradition in depth.
